DELAMERE - GAWLER - PORT PIRIE - SOUTHERN ADELAIDE - WHYALLA - YANKALILLA

Last Update: 10 May 2012 — Delamere & Yankalilla details — Shihan's August schedule

Takahashi Shihan (8th Dan, OAM)
TSKF Australia Chief Instructor

Shihan visits Australia twice a year and spends many weeks visiting the various states. During this time he conducts training and gradings. We are very lucky to have a man of this calibre teaching us. He brings an unbroken line of instruction to us.

The TSKFA is Shotokan based and not for profit Karate organization that is following the original teachings of the founder Gichin Funakoshi and the late Master Nakayama. TSKFA truly believe that the #1 Principle "Never forget that karate begins and ends with respect" should be followed at all times. We also promote strong moral principles, traditional etiquette and the encouragement of goodwill and harmony among all karateka.

We have recently joined the ISKF and look forward to an exciting new future with the opportunity to train with like minded Shotokan karate groups and foster an 'open-door' policy. All states have various events for the rest of the year including Childers, Northern Rivers, Coolah and New Zealand to mention a few. Refer to the national web site for more information.

Membership

Registration forms for 2012–2013 will soon be available. Please be aware that you need to be registered in order to grade. Current memberships expire on June 30. The cost will be increasing to $105 in order to help establish the State body.

Shihan's August schedule

Shihan will be back in South Australia for two weekends during August–September. The National Team will be training together here during that time, and the State will be holding a competition.

2012 Nationals

The Third TSKF Australian National Titles were held on the Gold Coast over March 19–24. Sensei John Russo said, "When we booked the hall, we wondered how we were going to fill it." Well... we filled it plenty! Be sure to visit the national web site for stories and photos. (A photo of a Gawler junior black belt is in the header of the national web site.) The group photos below can be saved for viewing at double-size.

Shihan's visit in February

Shihan was back in South Australia over February 16 to 23. Fifty-two people attended State Training sessions. At Gawler Dojo, there were twenty-five Kyu gradings and four Dan gradings.

Shihan's last visit with Willis Sensei

Shihan visited South Australia in August 2011 with Mark Willis Sensei from New Zealand. (Osu, Sensei!) As well as training sessions during that time, several gradings and a State competition were held. Congratulations to all who graded and competed. And a big thank you to the small army of volunteers who pulled it all together so smoothly. It was a great week and Shihan was very pleased.
